Our 1994 Jeep Wrangler project was in in need of some upgrades for the interior, so we decided to use the Herculiner kit, $90 from Amazon.
First we had to weld up this lovely hole in the drivers side footwell, which involved cutting alot of material away to get to clean metal
The before. Prepping was not too bad. Matter of using goof off on any gunk or adhesive left behind, acetone cleaning, scuffing all the surfaces, washing the interior with Dawn dish soap (removes grease).
And the end result? AWESOME. Looks amazing. Currently putting the seats and belts back in, using all new stainless hardware so it stands out nice
Costs for everything:
$90 for Herculiner kit, came with brushes
$10 for Acetone and dish soap
$70 for all new stainless steel hardware (McMaster is pricey but they have the the exact bolts you are looking for)

Well, that’s certainly one way to keep the rust at bay. That looks great!
How’s the underside of the body look?

Underside, is a bit iffy. Planning to use POR 15 for the underside, I’ve read better results for underside using the POR than bed liner. But everyone has the same comments “lots of prep work, whatever it touches it stays stuck to, forever, definitely worth it in the end”

I was looking at Al’s DIY bed liner, hadn’t heard of this one. Any issues? Any tips? Did you use a roller? Would you recommend an air gun instead? Want to do my truck?

Kit comes with 2 foam brush rollers and 1 brush. My wife was using the brush to cut in the corners while I rolled. You can roll it on heavy and spread it around, it covers all imperfections. Wait about 4 hours between coats, and drying takes several days. Seriously we had some left in the tray, and it was still soft 48 hours later.
Not familiar with Al’s, went with Herculiner based on the Amazon reviews being all positive

That should help quiet things down a bit. I know my truck quieted down after getting the bed done.

It definitely did, drove it to work today and was much quieter, considering for the past 4 months we’ve been driving it around with no interior as it is, just bare metal.

I guess not having a hole in the floor helped too :)

It was even better once I found plugs for the drain holes, made it nice not to have 40 degree air being pulled up your pant legs while driving to work
